The hip-hop world was rocked by the passing of Mobb Deep's Prodigy earlier this week. Joining his contemporaries in paying tribute to the iconic MC, DJ Premier has unearthed a previously unreleased Mobb Deep track.
Titled "Cop Hell," the track finds the two rappers taking lyrical aim at the police, with Havoc rapping, "I'm sendin' cops to Cop Hell (yeah) with gasoline draws/Fuck ya boots and ya bullshit thoughts." You can hear the track in the player below.
Havoc has also responded to the death of his partner in rhyme with a video monologue through TMZ. He says that he first heard of Prodigy's passing while driving home from his 5-year-old's kindergarten graduation.
He added that he can't listen to Mobb Deep's music or photos of the two yet, saying "people that lost somebody, they know what I'm talking about, but this is just a little bit more crazy."
Havoc and Prodigy met when they were 15 years old, first forming rap duo Poetical Prophets. They released their debut as Mobb Deep, Juvenile Hell, in 1993.
