The Dismemberment Plan to Kick Off Reunion on Fallon

BY Josiah HughesPublished Dec 6, 2010

Back in September, we reported that fallen post-punk heroes the Dismemberment Plan were reuniting for some shows in January following years of inactivity. The band originally called it quits in 2003, opting to come back for a brief stint in 2007. This time, they will be reissuing their seminal album Emergency & I and embarking on a North American tour. Now, we're happy to report that the stint will include a network television appearance.

As Jawbox and Pavement have already proven, the best network TV slot for fallen indie bands back from the grave is Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. The Dismemberment Plan are scheduled to take the stage at 30 Rock on January 20.

Then, on January 21, the band will kick off their reunion tour. The run of shows has been expanded from five dates to ten, and while there's a serious lack of Canadian dates, they have added a Seattle show on March 12, meaning Dismemberment Plan fans on both coasts could feasibly attend. All dates are available below.

The vinyl reissue of Emergency & I will be released on January 11 via Barsuk. A pre-order for the release is available now here.
