DillanPonders Gets Nate Husser and Snotty Nose Rez Kids for "KING OF THE TOWN" Remix

In January, Toronto's DillanPonders declared himself "KING OF THE TOWN," and now he's teamed up with hip-hop breakout stars from across the country for a new remix. Listen to the new version featuring British Columbia duo Snotty Nose Rez Kids and Montreal's Nate Husser now.

The new version leads off with Husser's rapid-fire rhymes before the Rez Kids take over for an experimental AutoTuned verse followed by their cleaner, reference-laden approach. It all culminates with Dillan's turn at the mic. All of the verses highlight each of the rappers' signature styles, but they converge in a celebration of their mutually impressive talents.

"Nate Husser and Snotty Nose Rez Kids are artists I respect and revere on a deep, deep level," said DillanPonders in a press release. "We all share a similar perspective and confidence when it comes to our respective crafts, and we're all from very different places (in the country and in life), and live in such different 'towns.' I knew they would be in sync with the level of confidence a song like this requires, while flexing and sharing their stories in a way that only they can."

Snotty Nose Rez Kids' Young D added the following:

The original 'KING OF THE TOWN' was one of our favourite songs off of Dillan's Because We're Alive album, so we were super pumped to be a part of the remix! I was back in my hometown in Northwest BC when I wrote and recorded my verse. I was staying with my brother who lives in the house that we grew up in on Haisla Nation (Kitamaat). That's where it all started for SNRK, so it was a full circle moment to write and record in that house again years down the road. It also meant that the energy was really there — all of us on the track come from such different backgrounds with different pasts, and I just wanted to showcase mine. We've been wanting to work with Dillan for a minute now, and its finally come to fruition! Can't wait to perform this shit with all of us on stage when the time comes!

Said Husser, "From one king to another. From city to city. Had to do it, it only felt right."
