Dexys (f.k.a. Dexys Midnight Runners) Announce First Album in 11 Years

Dexys — the English group formerly known as Dexys Midnight Runners, who scored a smash hit with 1982's "Come on Eileen" — have announced a new album. The Kevin Rowland-led outfit will share The Feminine Divine on July 28 via 100% Records.

The group's first album of original material since 2012's One Day I'm Going to Soar, the nine-track Feminine Divine is said to reflect Rowland's own education and unlearning of "the whole concept of masculinity he had been raised with," a journey set to more traditional pop and "saucy, synth-heavy cabaret" sounds in equal measure.

Arriving alongside news of the album is the unfailingly optimistic "I'm Going to Get Free," complete with a video from director Guy Myhill. Lyrically, it finds Rowland leaning into the record's "personal, if not strictly autobiographical" nature, shaking off his hangups in style in the clip you watch below.

The Feminine Divine:

1. The One That Loves You
2. It's Alright Kevin (Manhood 2023)
3. I'm Going to Get Free
4. Coming Home
5. The Feminine Divine
6. My Goddess Is
7. Goddess Rules
8. My Submission
9. Dance with Me
