Fans of Devin Townsend have known he's been in the studio hard at work on a forthcoming Devin Townsend Project record. Now, the Canadian metal maestro has shed a bit more light on the new effort.
Titled Transcendence, the album is set to arrive on September 2 through InsideOut Music, with the tracks having been sent off to be mastered, according to an update on Townsend's Facebook page. You can view the incredibly detailed cover art for the record above.
Along with the album announcement, Townsend also revealed plans for a full North American tour, kicking off the day of the album's release. The majority of the dates will see Townsend and company co-headlining alongside Between the Buried and Me, while Fallujah will also provide support at a number of appearances. Between the Buried and Me revealed on Twitter that they will be performing 2015's Coma Ecliptic in its entirety.
Townsend will start the tour in Western Canada with dates in Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg, with shows in Montreal and Toronto on September 18 and 20, respectively. A show at Vancouver's Vogue Theatre on October 15 marks the end of the run.
