Swedish-American electronic pop trio Miike Snow won over tastemakers everywhere with their 2009 self-titled debut. Now, the group are preparing to continue spreading the word with a new album in 2012. This sophomore disc doesn't yet have a title or release date yet, but you can get a taste of it in the form of new single "Devil's Work."
The track was self-recorded and self-produced at the band's studio in Stockholm, Sweden, and a press release describes this piano-heavy single as "a haunting, ethereal masterpiece complete with hypnotic drumming, atmospheric synths and brass fanfare, all underpinning [singer] Andrew Wyatt's ghostly vocals." Yup, that sounds about right.
The song will also be featured in an upcoming film accompaniment by Andreas Nillson, "who will creatively direct the entire campaign based around creating a story about the birth of a new race... and the first glimpse of a key character is revealed in this first extended clip." If that sounds tantalizing, you can give Nillson's visual efforts a watch at the bottom of the page.
Of course, listen to "Devil's Work" below, and stay tuned for more updates about Miike Snow's upcoming LP.
