Depeche Mode Preps New Live DVD, Possible Remix Album

Depeche Mode fans can rest easy for the time being because some new releases from the band are on the immediate horizon. According to Depeche Mode fan site, Home, the band is currently prepping a live DVD as well as remix album.

The live DVD set, documenting the band's Tour of the Universe shows in Barcelona, should be available in early November, while a new remix album is rumoured to drop in early 2011.

Home cites the DepMod fan forum and a leaked EMI Music email which details the live film in three different formats: a standard DVD with a double-CD, a double-DVD and double-CD set, and finally a double Blu-ray edition.

The DVDs will include footage from the band's November 20-21 shows in Barcelona, Spain, as well as a 40-minute documentary. There will also be onstage backdrop films by Dutch music video director Anton Corbijn, footage of the band's pre-tour rehearsals in New York, and videos for the songs "Wrong," "Peace," "Fragile Tension" and "Hole to Feed." All four tracks appeared on the band's 2009 release, Sounds of the Universe.

Meanwhile, the band is also rumoured to be working on a remix album. This news comes from a Pet Shot Boys fan forum, so this one isn't quite in the bank yet. If the remix album does materialize, it will be the band's first since 2004's Remixes 81-04.
