Denzel Curry Reports "Live from the Abyss" on New Song

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Oct 2, 2020

Denzel Curry has returned with a new single. After teaming with Kenny Beats for UNLOCKED earlier this year, the Florida artist has now shared "Live from the Abyss," which you can hear below.

Over swaying metallic production from FnZ, Curry paints an appropriately bleak picture of his country's current moment in just under two minutes, rapping forcefully in the chorus, "Reportin' live from the depths of the abyss, I'm at risk / When I be talkin' to my people like this, raise my fist / I tell Trump in the office to suck a dick, bitch, I'm pissed."

Curry will donate net proceeds from "Live from the Abyss" digital single sales on Bandcamp to Dream Defenders through the end of this month.

Last year, Curry released his ZUU LP, which Exclaim! named one of the Best Hip-Hop Albums of 2019. This December, he'll appear on a new album from the Avalanches.
