Earlier this week, Deltron 3030 announced they're finally issuing new material this year, first with a three-song teaser EP titled City Rising from the Ashes, whose songs will all be on their long-in-the-works Event II LP. Whetting our ecstatic whistles for the summer release, Del the Funky Homosapien, Kid Koala and Dan the Automator are streaming the EP's title cut.
As you'd expect, Dan the Automator's production is thick and playful, wrapping keyboard melodies and percussive ticks around a punchy beat. Despite his energetic flow, Del keeps up the bummer outlook of the outfit's first LP by describing the future-set landscape's crumbling environment and corrupt politicians. Though, shit, many would agree that's the case today. Same as it ever was, same as it ever will be.
You can check the tune out down below.
As previously reported, City Rising from the Ashes drops July 30, while the full-meal deal of Event II is still without a release date.
