Toronto, ON rockers Danko Jones have announced the release of their fifth studio album, Below the Belt, adding to what already promises to be a generous springtime for releases.
Says Danko Jones of the band's latest effort, out on Aquarius Records, "This is our best album yet." While we can't hold him to that until the album is released on May 11, we can only believe what the man says.
Produced by frequent collaborator and longtime friend Matt DeMattero, who also took care of 2003's We Sweat Blood and 2006's Sleep is the Enemy, the album will feature 11 new tracks with an apparently harder, more powerful sound.
The band just finished supporting Guns N' Roses across their 13-date Canadian tour, and should be suitably energized to begin a tour of their own, those dates forthcoming.
Below the Belt will be the follow-up to 2008's Never Too Loud, and a collection of B-sides released exclusively in Europe, where the band will return once again to tour in support of the new album.
