Toronto's Daniel Lee already plays in Hooded Fang and Phèdre, and now he's preparing to release a solo album as Lee Paradise. Water Palace Kingdom will be out on April 26 through Pleasance Records/Not Unlike Records.
Lee recorded the album over a week while recovering from a bout of flu he picked up on tour with Hooded Fang. The instrumentation is minimal and focused around receptive rhythms and sparse vocals. According to an announcement, "The result is a compelling grab bag of hazy, melancholy pop, anxious torch songs and sinister cautionary tales delivered in Lee's captivating baritone."
There are eight songs in all. That's the tracklist below and the album cover above.
Scroll past the tracklist to watch a black and white video for the gritty, bass-driven "Breaker." Directed by Neil Cavalier, it takes viewers on a sunny scooter ride.
The album is available to order here or here.

2. Breaker
3. Diner Talk
