Dan Mangan's DIY touring company Side Door has become a notable success, particularly when it became a lockdown-era hub for streaming concerts. Now, Mangan and co-founder Laura Simpson are bringing their company to the entrepreneurial reality show Dragons' Den.
Mangan and Simpson will appear on Dragons' Den next Thursday (November 3), with the episode airing on CBC. The pair will be pitching their business to the panel of judges (i.e., the Dragons) with the hope of securing financing.
Mangan will perform live on the show. Side Door has shared a brief preview, featuring Simpson pitching the Dragons about the concept of the company (which connects touring artists with DIY venues such as living rooms and garages). She then introduces Mangan, who strums a couple chords on acoustic guitar before the preview ends.
