Tired? Need an energy boost? Screw five-hour energy shots. Go see a show by Da Pink Noise. The stage antics of this Montreal twosome were star-worthy, rivalling the best of any punk bank. Lead vocalist Rafael twisted and pulsated onstage, while yelling into one of his two effects-laden microphones; background mixer Chris danced behind his MacBook Pro, thrashing his arms about like an after-hours celebrity. While they claim that their main influence is '90s house music, genre-bending is their forte, with tunes that flawlessly move between hip-hop, dubstep and '80s goth -- sometimes in one track. If Wikipedia and Bandcamp made babies, they'd probably be a moody, intellectual space-punk band that rhymed with "Ga Dink Roise." Just sayin'.
