Fresh off announcing a tour behind their new Fight Back LP, Vancouver punk icons D.O.A. have now detailed plans for a festival of the same name.
The band will headline the first annual Fight Back Festival July 6 at Vancouver's Rickshaw Theatre. They'll be part of a lineup that features 10 bands across two stages, including sets from Vancouver's Roots Roundup, Colorado duo In the Whale and more artists yet to be announced.
The fest will also feature street performers and a punk photo exhibit from Vancouver photographer Beth Davies.
"I came up with this concept because that's what I believe we need to do at this point in time," D.O.A. frontman Joe Keithley said in a statement. "We need to fight back against racism, sexism, hatred, and greed. We need to promote grassroots democracy, where everyone has a say. If enough of us pull together we will make this a better place."
Tickets are available in person at Neptoon Records, Zulu Records, Highlife Records and both Red Cat Records locations. Tickets can also be found online through the Rickshaw's official website.
