Craig Finn and the Uptown Controllers have announced the cancellation of their October tour dates due to a case of COVID in the band.
They were due to perform at Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern on October 19, in addition to several US dates. Their November schedule remains unaffected as of press time. The band do not plan to reschedule the affected dates.
The news comes from the Hold Steady frontman himself, who wrote on Instagram, "We don't feel that making quick and hectic adjustments to the band lineup will allow us to bring the show we want to play for you, so we've made the difficult decision to cancel this portion of the tour."
He added:
These are immensely trying times for touring musicians, and we hope you understand. We were fortunate that we made it through a fantastic European tour in September, but we were not so lucky for this run. It's an incredible disappointment, but it's a priority to keep our band, audiences, club staff and crew healthy.
Despite the cancellation, the band will still perform on Seth Meyers this evening with Joe Russo filling in for the unnamed infected band member.
