The Coup

'Sorry to Bother You' (album stream)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 22, 2012

We've got a steady stream of singles and videos off the Coup's upcoming Sorry to Bother You LP since it was announced back in August, but you can now check out the platter in full via an album stream.

On top of previously premiered cuts like "Guillotine" and the Killer Mike- and Das Racist-assisted "WAVIP," you can now check out band leader Boots Riley flexing his mic skills on loose and groovy funk jam "My Murder, My Love" and the softer baroque-strings-and- roots-guitar symphony "Violet," along with the rest of the album tracks.

As previously explained in a press release, "The tracks merge danceable beats, punk urgency and the astute social commentary of hip-hop to craft a refreshingly unique sound that draws from the past but never sounds anything but futuristic." Guests on the LP also include Anti-Flag, Jolie Holland, Japanther, Vernon Reid, Joe Henry and more.

You can sample the entire album, which drops October 30 via Anti-, below courtesy of A.V. Club.
