Tennessee singer-songwriter and recent Exclaim! Staff Pick corook (née Corinne Savage) has shared plans for a two-part project. Their serious person (part 1) EP is set to drop June 2 via Atlantic.
Alongside the EP announcement, corook has shared its eponymous track. Listen to it below.
"I wrote 'serious person' with my friend Dan Fernandez in his cozy studio in Nashville TN," corook said of the EP's titular track [via Brooklyn Vegan]. "When we got together I wasn't sure what would come out of me but I sat at the piano and immediately sang 'I'm not a serious person.' We spent the day writing about my fears around marriage and my insecurities coming into adulthood."
