Constantines and Ladyhawk Join Forces For Summer Tour

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jun 12, 2008

Though they hate each other in virtually every other arena, sometimes it takes a little indie rock to cool the Toronto/Vancouver rivalry. With the release of their new record Kensington Heights fresh from the Arts and Crafts label, Toronto’s Constantines have announced plans for a North American tour with Vancouver burnouts Ladyhawk, whose Shots LP was released by Jagjaguwar in the spring.

Launching June 18 at Winnipeg’s Pyramid Cabaret, the tour will lead them through Calgary’s grunge-heavy Virgin Festival to a final show in Denver, Colorado. Following the tour, Constantines will be performing with the Sex Pistols at Dublin’s Electric Picnic in late August, and at Toronto’s Virgin Festival in early September.

Also, don’t forget to bro down to some Ladyhawk jams at NXNE this weekend. They will be playing at Yonge-Dundas Square on Friday, June 13 at 6:00 p.m. and at the Horseshoe Tavern on Saturday, June 14 at 2:00 a.m.
