There's kinda never been a worse time to be a Kanye West fan, but there's also probably never been a better time to be a Kanye West scholar.

There's no shortage of topics to discuss when it comes to Kanye — some much heavier and more troubling than others — and a new course from Concordia University is looking to explore them.

Concordia has announced "Kanye vs. Ye: Genius by Design," a new course on all things Kanye West that's being taught by Montreal rapper, writer, actor and professor Yassin Alsalman (otherwise known by his stage name Narcy, previously Narcicyst).

In an Instagram post announcing the course, Alsalman wrote:

I want to bring something new and fresh to students. An opportunity to bring more amazing guests to the University and to discuss the world through the lens of one of the most influential artists of our generation. This class isn't only about Kanye. It's about community, creativity, responsibility, accountability, fame and mental health, dreams and nightmares - and more importantly, self-actualization.

Concordia's official description of the class reads:

The class dissects Ye's art, design, music, celebrity-life, and cultural impacts in the age of information. Unquestionably a problematic figure, Kanye West is also a maven of all the creative industries he has touched. By using Kanye's albums as cultural, artistic, and personal lenses; this class studies the evolution of his genius, and explores the concept of "Kanyetive Dissonance" — the unique, complex, and controversial natures and contexts of Kanye's body of work and impacts.

The course is available now for sign-up. See Alsalman's post below.
