Among the many scoring projects that Cliff Martinez has on the way is a soundtrack for the shooter game Far Cry 4. Ahead of the soundtrack's release, a number of cuts can be streamed ahead of time.
This sampler from Invada Records contains four tracks. All of them have a futuristic, synth-driven style, although there's a fair amount of diversity here: the frantic "Into the Fire" is filled with jittery beats and dialup-modem-gone-haywire synths, while "Secrets of the Goddess" is a little more earthy and sedate, "Lives to Spare" has an ominous, industrial-tinged surge, and "Amita's Rage" drifts with an undercurrent of low-key tension.
Far Cry 4's soundtrack will arrive digitally tomorrow (November 4). A double-CD version will follow on December 2 in North America and a triple-vinyl version will arrive in January. The game will be out on November 18.
