Coming off the premiere of Clairmont The Second's "Lames (All I Hear)" single earlier this week, the teenaged Torontonian has now dropped a whole mixtape. The freelease, given the on-the-nose title of A Mixtape by Clairmont The Second, is streaming now.
Up front, "Cola's Intro" subverts the sensual swerve of En Vogue's "Hold On," transforming that track into a kiss-off to the lames that need to up their game. Elsewhere, Clairmont riffs big above the still penetrating, air raid siren-and-synth squealing beat to Ice Cube's "Wicked," and drops bars above a Bootsy Collins-sampling bass bounce on "More."
Later, he stakes his claim in the six, demanding on "Can't Save Em": "Take your eyes off of Drake for a second, he's not the only artist in the city reppin' this section."
You'll find the rest of his ambition-laden freelease down below.
