​Chris Cornell's Widow Reveals Plans for Public Vigil

The wife of Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell, Vicky Cornell, has announced plans for a public vigil to honour the late singer.
 
The event will take place on May 18 (the one year anniversary of Cornell's death) at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. It starts at 7 p.m. local time.
 
In a statement about the upcoming memorial, Cornell's widow thanked fans for their outpouring of support in the last 12 months. She told fans, "Your love has created a close-knit community; more like a family; to grieve with, to provide support, and to help us heal."

Cornell died on May 18, 2017. It was ruled suicide by hanging, and an autopsy later revealed that he had prescription drugs in his system at his time of death.
