Canadian punkers SNFU have come back from the dead and reformed well, kind of. After calling it a day in 2005, front-man Chi Pig has reinstated the SNFU brand and will hit the road for a cross-Canada "reunion tour. However, in a very Axl-like fashion, the band now come across as a bit SNFU Version 2.0, including Chi Pig but no other original members.
Now, along with the puppet-sporting singer, the group are composed of Ken "Goonie" Flemming (the Unwanted, Econoline Crush, Dog Eat Dogma, one-time SNFU bassist), drummer Chad Mareels (Black Donnellys, Nasty On, Dog Eat Dogma) and bass player Just Denis (Dog Eat Dogma, Smoked Oysters, Fake it Big Time). Apparently, founding members Brent and Marc Belke, Warren Bidlock and Evan "Tadpole" Jones are not along for the ride, nor are any of the various other members who have over the years played with SNFU, which formed in Edmonton in 1982.
As for the tour, it kicks off in September and finds the new line-up hitting a long string of Canadian dates. However, there is no word yet on whether the band will be entering the studio to lay down another album.
