Vancouver's Che Chapter 127 exudes all the political convictions one expects from any release on G-7, while their songs instantly bring to mind Sparkmarker, with the big grooves and catchy hooks, beefed up with a great production. Rage Against The Machine also makes their influence felt, like it or not, but more so in vibe than in sound. It's always inspiring to see women in bands, and vocalist Meegan Riot does a great job of powerfully switching from the melodic to the aggressive. Ultimately, the songs drag on a bit too long and there's a slight air of cheese floating around some of the grooves and lyrics; conversely, some of them are outstanding. The sum of these excellent parts is an ambiguous middle of the road musical confusion, but still one that deserves attention.
