The pop star promised to reveal "lots of secrets this week"

Yesterday (November 1), Charli XCX tweeted that she'd be "revealing lots of secrets this week." She's kept her word, as the past few days has seen a slow and steady trickle of new information regarding her next single and her upcoming '80s hot-goth album.

Today saw the official announcement of Charli's next single — "New Shapes," which had been teased with a series of cryptic tweets, features Caroline Polachek and Christine and the Queens. It's out this Thursday (November 4).

Along with that official news, Charli took to Twitter yesterday (November 1) to fire off a hefty list of names — including A. G. Cook, Rina Sawayama, Caroline Polachek, Oneohtrix Point Never, Christine and the Queens and Ariel Rechstaid, just to name a few — that looks very much like a list of collaborators.

With the announcement of this latest single, it seems confirmed that those artists will be appearing in some capacity on Charli's upcoming record. It's a pretty stacked list, and it brings together a healthy dose of regular Charli collaborators with some exciting new ones.

On Instagram, she posted the same list and added "…u ready?" to the end of it, attached to a photo of herself in a car's side mirror that claims "objects in mirror are closer than they appear." There are layers to this, people.

Charli, Caroline Polachek and Christine and the Queens all tweeted lyrics to "New Shapes" on Saturday (October 30) in the same squiggly-ass, almost-unreadable font. The lyrical sampling reads:

"When morning comes all misty, we fade"

"Fucked if I know how it's gonna end"

"We could fall in love in new shapes"

Earlier today, Charli also tweeted a 30-second video of herself listening to the new track, captioned with "a delicious new shape."

See Charli's announcement below, plus all the evidence leading to it.

Charli XCX's last record was 2020's How I'm Feeling Now. In September, she released her latest single "Good Ones."
