Charli XCX and Troye Sivan Party Like It's '1999' on New Song

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Oct 5, 2018

Pop outliers Charli XCX and Troye Sivan were barely able to tie their own shoes in 1999, but it hasn't stopped the pair from toasting the pre-Y2K year with a new song.

In addition to amazing The Matrix-inspired single art, the duo make references to Britney Spears, Nike Airs and, of course, teen Home Improvement heartthrob Jonathan Taylor Thomas on "1999."

It's a lot of nostalgia given that Charli XCX was born in 1992 and Sivan didn't arrive until 1995, but who doesn't wish they were cruising around in an old Mercedes listening to Slim Shady CDs nearly 20 years ago? Anything's gotta be better than the dumpster fire that is the world in 2018, right?

Take a trip back to happier, tackier times by listening to "1999" below.
