After much ado about her lack of a presidential endorsement this week, Chappell Roan has cancelled her scheduled appearances at this weekend's All Things Go music festivals in New York, NY, and Columbia, MD, citing the need to "prioritize my health."
"I apologize to people who have been waiting to see me in NYC & DC this weekend at All Things Go, but I am unable to perform," she wrote on her Instagram Story. "Things have gotten overwhelming over the past few weeks and I am really feeling it."
"I feel pressures to prioritize a lot of things right now and I need a few days to prioritize my health," Roan continued. "I want to be present when I perform and give the best shows possible. Thank you for understanding."
All Things Go organizers showed their support for the pop star in a statement of their own. "We're heartbroken to announce that Chappell Roan will no longer be performing at this year's festivals. While we know how much you were looking forward to the performances, it's important to remember that health and well-being always comes first," they wrote. "All Things Go strongly supports artists prioritizing their well-being and we ask our community to rally around Chappell Roan with love and understanding. Let's continue to show the world that music fans support not just the art, but the artists themselves."
Roan told The Guardian in an interview earlier this month that she had recently been diagnosed with severe depression. She's also been open about coping with Bipolar II disorder.
