Cardi B has set a new record with her 2017 breakout single "Bodak Yellow," which has now officially been RIAA-certified Diamond after selling over 10 million copies in the U.S.

Cardi teased the news in a video announcement early this morning, saying, "I just got this crazy surprise. And I think you guys are gonna find out tomorrow and I just want to say: Thank you guys so much because without you guys this wouldn't happen."

With her new designation, Cardi has earned the title of the first female rapper with a Diamond-certified single. Last month, Lauryn Hill's The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill earned the first Diamond certification for an album by a female rapper.

This morning, the Recording Industry Association of America confirmed that "Bodak Yellow" was certified alongside "WAP," which has gone five times Platinum since it was released just last summer, signalling that the 2020 hit is well on its way to reaching the coveted Diamond certification itself.

Cardi's latest achievement follows her other record-smashing titles, including the female rapper with the most No. 1 singles on the Hot 100, the first female rapper with No. 1 hits in two different decades and the first female solo artist to win Best Rap Album at the Grammys
