Car Seat Headrest impressed with Teens of Denial last year, but the Will Toledo-led outfit is looking to branch out from its own original content with a surprising set of covers from an unlikely "All Star" artist's catalogue. That's right — Car Seat Headrest wants to tackle some classics by Smash Mouth.
A couple weeks ago, the '90s rockers entertained the idea of a fan-suggested collaboration with the '90s-born rocker, and Car Seat Headrest proved unexpectedly open to the prospect.
Now, in a new interview with Australian radio station Triple J, Toledo expanded on the potential collaboration.
"Really, we don't know what right now, but if nothing else, we'll probably cover a few of their songs," he said. "I grew up obviously knowing their hits, and I have been listening a lot to Astro Lounge, and I still think it's a great record. The songs really hold up as pop songs."
Nothing's set in stone yet, but when asked what his favourite Smash Mouth tune was, Toledo replied, "I guess 'All Star' would have to be the choice. It's just, it's always there."

@crockodials @carseatheadrest I don't think they would think that's cool but we're game.
