Cannibal Ox Unveil Long-Awaited 'Blade of the Ronin' LP

Though Cannibal Ox's crowdsourcing campaign to pay for a new LP didn't quite reach its goal, the New York duo managed to make a deal with IGC Records/iHipHop Distribution to deliver their sophomore set, Blade of the Ronin. The record is poised to cut through the competition on March 3.

A press release notes that the album, which comes 14 years after 2001's The Cold Vein, has Vast Aire and Vordul Mega presenting a "grimy yet futuristic soundscape." Producer Bill Cosmiq is credited with working on the bulk of the collection with Cannibal Ox, including the previously released "Gotham (Ox City)." Other contributors to the set include metal-faced rapper DOOM, Wu-Tang Clan's U-God, Artifacts, Elzhi and more.

While no new previews from the platter have been served up just yet, you can stream "Gotham (Ox City)" down below. The song had originally appeared on a three-track single along with "Psalm 82," which will also appear on Blade of the Ronin, and "Gases in Hell (Inhale)."
