Fully immunized Canadians who got two shots of the AstraZeneca vaccine will be able to see Bruce Springsteen after all. Following quite the public response, the theatre hosting Bruce Springsteen's Broadway show will now allow audience members who got the AZ shot to attend, reversing a previous decision to limit the concert to those with FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccines.
This weekend, New York City's Jujamcyn Theaters announced it will now allow audience members to attend if they have been fully vaccinated with either FDA-approved shots or those approved by the World Health Organization. This now means those with the AstraZeneca vaccine — which is approved by the WHO but not FDA — can go to "Springsteen on Broadway."
"Following amended New York State guidelines, we are now permitted to welcome guests who are fully vaccinated with an FDA or WHO approved vaccine to 'Springsteen on Broadway,'" the company wrote on Friday (June 18).

But while "Springsteen on Broadway" is now a go for those who got the AZ jab, many other events in NYC, such as Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, still are not allowing those with the AZ shot to attend live tapings.
Of course, with the Canada-U.S. border still closed until July 21, Canadians who got the AZ shot are unlikely to be flocking to the States to see live events anyway. But the entire Springsteen incident has most definitely shown that the idea of so-called "vaccine passports" when it comes to live events is a tricky one.
