It's a big day for Leonard Cohen fans. After news broke earlier today that the singer's first post-humous record will arrive this fall, Canada Post has announced it will be issuing four million commemorative Leonard Cohen stamps tomorrow (September 21) — the day that would have been his 85th birthday.
The stamp collection will feature three unique designs to honour the late musician's life and career. At the time of reporting, the design have not been revealed. There will be a special unveiling ceremony today at 5:20 p.m. EDT streaming via a Facebook Live event from the singer's hometown of Montreal at the Museum of Fine Arts.
The director of stamp services at Canada Post, Jim Phillips, worked closely with the Cohen family to create a collection that honoured the Canadian icon.
"We're so honoured and thrilled at having the responsibility to do this," Phillips said in a statement, "In a proper, classy, professional way that would have made Leonard and his family extremely happy and proud."
The stamps will be available for purchase tomorrow in-store and on the Canada Post website.

Leonard Cohen passed away on November 7, 2016, in Los Angeles. He was 82 years old.
His posthumous album titled Thanks for the Dance is due November 22 via Sony Music. It was assembled by his son Adam Cohen and will feature contributions from Beck, Feist, Richard Reed Parry and more. His last album You Want It Darker was released just before his death in 2016.
