Buzzov*en

Sore

Owning multiple copies of an album seems redundant. That is, until dedicated geniuses conspire to create something so great we happily throw down money for a fresh version. Such is the case with Polish label Metal Mind and their take on sludge masters Buzzov*en's incredible 1994 sophomore opus, Sore. While any self-respecting metal fan of the past 20 years ostensibly owns this explosion of beastly riffs, sordid wails and despotic heaviness, the grotesque beauty and limited amounts (only 2,000 copies) of this digi-pack reissue compel us to buy it all over again. Fleshed-out from its original 12-track version via a bonus disc featuring four of Violence From The Vault's five recently unearthed tracks, lyrics/liner notes and a remastering that gives an already oppressive album unprecedented girth, volume and a distorted sheen, this is an amazing treatment for a vastly overlooked yet influential piece of viscous metal.
