Varg Vikernes, the notorious frontman for metal group Burzum, was released from prison just a few years ago, but might be facing a long return to the slammer after a recent arrest.
According to various reports, the performer was arrested earlier today (July 16) at his farm in France, where he lives with his wife and three children. Vikernes was arrested after his wife purchased four rifles, which she alleges were intended for her shooting club.
However, the French government's Central Directorate of Internal Intelligence has revealed that Vikernes was suspected to be "plotting a massacre." Reuters added that the singer has been linked to Norwegian mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik, who sent a copy of his manifesto to Vikernes.
Vikernes served 21 years in prison for the murder of Mayhem's Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth. He has also been charged on several counts of arson.
