Bruce Springsteen's 'High Hopes' Examined with New HBO Documentary

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 6, 2014

Bruce Springsteen has been explored with a couple of recent documentaries, notably the 2010 film about Darkness on the Edge of Town and the more recent fan flick Springsteen & I. Now, the Boss is set to be examined with yet another documentary.

This one is called High Hopes, and as the title suggests, it looks at the creation of Springsteen's recent album of the same name. It was directed by Thom Zimny, who also helmed the aforementioned film about Darkness on the Edge of Town.

This HBO documentary will feature behind-the-scenes footage from the studio, rehearsals and tour, and there will be interviews with both Springsteen and contributing guitarist Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, the Nightwatchman). A press release notes, "The two discuss their artistic choices for the project and explain how Morello brought a distinctive twist to Springsteen's material."

High Hopes will air on HBO on April 4. It's currently unclear if a DVD release will follow.
