Bruce Springsteen has postponed a pair of performances with the E Street Band in Philadelphia, PA, due to "having been taken ill."
The Boss was scheduled to play the first of two nights at Citizens Bank Park this evening, but announced that the show would be postponed mere hours before doors.
"Due to Bruce Springsteen having been taken ill, his concerts with the E Street Band at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on August 16 and 18 have been postponed," Springsteen's team tweeted from his account this afternoon. "We are working on rescheduling the dates so please hold on to your tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled dates."
Springsteen just kicked off his most recent run of notoriously long concerts in Chicago last week. No further information about the nature of his illness has yet to be given, so it remains unclear whether the rest of the tour will be affected.
The next show is currently slated to take place in Foxborough, MA, next week on August 24, while Springsteen and the E Street Band are supposed to hit seven Canadian cities in November.
