Bruce Springsteen Gives Fans Free (Halloween) Song

After cancelling Halloween at the Springsteen house this year, the Boss is now trying to make good with a new downloadable treat. Today (October 31), Bruce Springsteen posted a free download online of the Halloween-themed "A Night with the Jersey Devil,” a new blues stomper that tells the tale of the Garden State’s mythical winged menace.

"If you grew up in central or south Jersey, you grew up with the ‘Jersey Devil.’ Here’s a little musical Halloween treat. Have fun,” Springsteen said in a handwritten note posted on his website.

Along with the track, Springsteen has a video for the song up and streaming on his site. The video, directed by Thom Zimny, finds the Boss portraying the Jersey Devil, a possessed preacher summoning fire and brimstone, as well as other evilness.

If you want to check this Halloweening out, you better get on it though: "A Night with the Jersey Devil” and its video will only be available on the website from today until 11:59 p.m. November 2. But we’re thinking after that, some ghoulish fan will host them elsewhere.

Oh, look at this, someone already has:
