This April will mark 50 years since Bruce Cockburn released his self-titled debut album, and the Canadian singer-songwriter has announced plans for an anniversary tour to celebrate the milestone.
UPDATE: Cockburn's rescheduled itinerary for 2021 and 2022 can be found here.
Cockburn will tour the United States this spring before a September 4 date at Toronto's CNE Bandshell. From there, he'll play four additional Ontario dates in October, making stops in Peterborough, Ottawa, Belleville and Kingston.
"In 1969, when I was feeling the need to record an album of the songs I'd been writing, I had no concept of what that might lead to," Cockburn reflected in a statement. "But looking back over the arc of fifty years of recording, performing, and travel, not to mention relationships and personal challenges, I can only shake my head and mutter a word of thanks for all of it. Even if I'd been a planner by nature, I doubt I could have predicted how things have gone. And they're still going!"
Cockburn released the all-instrumental Crowing Ignites — his 26th studio effort — last September.
