It looks like Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter won't be the only beloved musical hero who's indirectly collaborating with troubled tabloid star Lindsay Lohan. Broken Social Scene's Brendan Canning has signed on to score the starlet's upcoming new film The Canyons.
The Canyons sees Lohan starring alongside adult film star James Deen. The film, which was partially funded on Kickstarter, was written by novelist Bret Easton Ellis and is being directed by legendary filmmaker Paul Schrader.
A write-up describes the film as "a contemporary L.A. noir," adding that it explores "the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally, among a group of young people in their 20s."
Outside of his soundtrack work with Broken Social Scene, Canning is no stranger to the world of scoring films, having previously provided scores for The Tracey Fragments, Trigger and Snow Cake.
A teaser trailer for The Canyons is available below.
