As demonstrations against racism rage on throughout the world, Alabama Shakes frontwoman Brittany Howard has delivered a new Tonight Show performance of "Goat Head" — a song that has become more relevant than ever as it addresses the singer's personal experience with a hate crime.
Howard, a biracial American, sings, "My mama was brave to take me outside / Cause mama is white and daddy is black / When I first got made, guess I made these folks mad" while physically distanced from her backing band."
The song first appeared on Howard's 2019 album Jamie.
