We've got to admit that we're a little jealous of Edmonton songwriter Garrett Johnson's office, which we get to see in his new video for Brazilian Money's "Job Slob."
In the clip for this quirky art-rock number, we see Johnson conducting business from his hot tub. He makes phone calls, flips through a phone book, makes notes with a pen and pad, and still find time to laze around and get very nearly naked. What else would you expect of a song that asks, "What do you do when a guy comes and shits on your floor?"
Johnson writes in a statement to Exclaim!, "The vid was filmed in Calgary when I was staying at my friend Thomas Di Ninno's house from Freak Heat Waves. He was living with Danny and Michael from Viet Cong, and they had rented a hot tub for the month. The next day Michael had to return the hot tub and I guess we had ruined the filter with all the newspaper shit and he had to spend like six hours cleaning it. So, I felt pretty bad about that."
This comes from Brazilian Money's self-titled new album, coming out on cassette on October 20 through Psychic Handshake. As Johnson explains, "It's basically a re-recorded greatest-hits album" he did when the label asked him for something "hi-fi."
