Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams has opened up about some of the guests who appear on her forthcoming solo debut PETALS FOR ARMOR, including trio boygenius.

The band comprises Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus, and they feature on backing vocals on the upcoming album's title track.

In an interview with the New York Times, Baker explained that she could relate to Williams as a woman growing up in a Southern Christian family and making the leap into the music industry.

"She has an innate connection with the deeply emotionally profound and really wants to explore those things in an honest way with people," Baker told the Times. "But also she is a uniquely disarming person."

Some of Williams's Paramore colleagues appear on the record too, with Taylor York producing the album, drummer Zac Farro playing on a few songs and touring bassist Joey Howard co-writing eight of the tracks.

Williams recently unveiled five songs from the album with a set titled Petals for Armor I. The full record arrives May 8 via Atlantic.
