This follow-up to BR's 1999 debut, Street Art Gallery, is more of the same tried and tested formula: aggressive punk rock in the Stiff Little Fingers and Rancid language, fast, powerful, chorus-heavy, lots of chanted back-ups and fist-raising youth anthems. Working with Millencolin guitarist Mathias Farm as producer has also had some direct benefits. There is an element beyond the traditional punk rock formula, a sophistication that comes out, impressive given the band's youth and the genre they work in. It saves Bombshell Rocks from becoming just another punk band. There are more than enough elements of originality and neat little parts to their songs, if you listen close enough, including shredding solos, to set them apart.
