While Bobby Womack's been hit hard with health problems over the last year, from fighting colon cancer to being diagnosed with Alzheimer's, the soul singer has still been promoting his outstanding The Bravest Man in the Universe LP. A newly tweaked edition featuring some bonus tracks appeared recently, and a video for one of those songs, "It's Been a Long Night," has now been premiered.
It's a studio-locked clip that finds the singer crooning from a couch. Interestingly, he starts into the song by ad-libbing "computer!" atop some electronic blips, but eventually settles into lines about tip-toeing around the bedroom with his sweetie. The behind-the-scenes clip for the chilled-out love song also lets us scope out Damon Albarn tickling the ivories, and other dudes laying down in-the-moment snap rhythms and percussive flourishes.
