There's been no shortage of archival Bob Dylan material as of late, with the artist set to treat his Basement Tapes to an expanded release next week and a handful of other artists taking on unreleased lyrics on a new compilation. However, Dylan hasn't released a new studio album since 2012's Tempest, though that will change shortly.
As Yahoo! News points out [via Spin], the new Basement Tapes box set contains a note that simply reads, "Bob Dylan, Shadows in the Night, New album coming in 2015."
That's not much to go on, but the album will mark Dylan's 36th studio effort. There's also speculation that the new release could be a covers album; back in May, Dylan shared a cover of Frank Sinatra's "Full Moon and Empty Arms," as well as uploaded an image sharing the new album title.
Stay tuned for more information on Bob Dylan's new album as it becomes available. In the meantime, stream "Full Moon and Empty Arms" here. The Basement Tapes, meanwhile, lands Tuesday (November 4) via Sony/Legacy, and Lost on the River: The New Basement Tapes arrives November 11 via Electromagnetic/Harvest.
