Ahead of revisiting his legendary "Rolling Thunder Revue" with a Netflix doc this June, Bob Dylan has now revealed plans to release recordings from the tour's first leg in a massive new box set.
Dylan will deliver the 14-CD set The Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1975 Live Recordings on June 7 through Columbia/Legacy Recordings, which is said to be "a comprehensive anthology of music from the mythic first leg" of the run.
Featuring 148 tracks in total, the set includes five of Dylan's sets from the tour that were professionally recorded. Those are packaged alongside recently unearthed rehearsal audio from New York's S.I.R. studios and the Seacrest Motel in Falmouth, MA, along with a bonus disc of one-of-a-kind performances from the tour.
The box set also includes a 52-page booklet of rare and never-before-seen photos from the tour, alongside an essay by novelist/musician Wesley Stace.
You can find a breakdown of all 14 discs below and can pre-order the box set here. For vinyl enthusiasts, Dylan's The Bootleg Series Volume 5 will come back to wax for the first time since 2002 concurrently, arriving as a 3xLP set with 64-page booklet.
The aforementioned Netflix doc, Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese, hits the streaming service June 12.
