Blue Hawaii's Alex "Agor" Kerby has formed a new group with German actress/vocalist Eddie Rabenberger. They're calling themselves Das Beat, and they've just announced plans for their debut EP, Identität, which is due for arrival on June 4 via Arbutus Records.
Following Agor's 2018 move from Montreal to Berlin, the new wave/dance duo formed during 2020's coronavirus lockdown, seeking "to blast both boredom and boundary."
Today, Das Beat share their first single "Bubble" and its accompanying Theo Zeitner-directed video. Watch that below, where you can also find the tracklisting for Identität.
Kerby released the Under 1 House mixtape with Braids' Raphaelle Standell-Preston as Blue Hawaii late last year. The pair recorded remotely from Montreal and Berlin, so it seems Kerby's move shouldn't prohibit new works from the Canadian-formed duo just yet.
