The 2024 edition of Calgary Folk Music Festival's Block Heater 9.0 is arriving February 15 to 17, and it's bringing a whole bunch of rad artists with it. Tanya Tagaq, FONTINE, Cat Clyde, MOONRIIVR and Rich Aucoin are among the 27 artists performing at this year's fest.
Featuring artists from four continents and eight countries, the festival takes place across a variety of stages — Festival Hall, Ironwood Stage & Grill, the Blues Can, the Palace Theatre, Central United Church, the #1 Legion and Olympic Plaza.
Among many more, Le Vent du Nord will be bringing their mélange of traditional Quebecois styles, while Cheikh Ibra Fam brings his trademark hip-hop, Afrobeat and dub; Daniel Romano's Outfit will be kicking up dust, U.S. Girls will bring their inimitable groove and Tanya Tagaq will be wielding her otherworldly power after a four-year hiatus from the fest.
