Bleeding Fist

Bestial Kruzifix666ion

In their press release, Slovenia's Bleeding Fist describe their second full-length, Bestial Kruzifix666ion, as "It's that old and ugly black metal feeling, which can be compared to fucking a 60-year-old drunk junkie bitch." Um, okay. I'd describe their music more like a bad Eastern European, thrash-influenced Slipknot (makeup and all), circa Iowa, tribute band but luckily for them, they do have somewhat passable music chops that stand out from their ridiculous hyperbole. What barely saves them from being written off as a gimmick is drummer Alex "Krieg Maschine" Destradi but just like the album, he alternates from being pretty damn impressive ("Spirit, Dust and Magic") to sinking into a chaotic mess (Dissected Dominion in Blood"). The guitar work, most notably on "Sabbath Ov Mist," is horrible, but you see where they are going, as they're obviously trying to create something unique, but they really don't have the talent to pull it off.
