Following last year's release of the long-lost Blood, BL'AST! are teaming up with Southern Lord to issue another set made up of archival sessions. This time around, they're presenting an alternate version of their debut LP The Power of Expression, fittingly dubbed here as The Expression of Power.
According to a press release, the hardcore band recorded the album several times before arriving with the finished product in 1986. This upcoming set, due March 18, features the original LP, as well as the alternate "Track Sessions," with all of the archival material being remastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. You'll find the tracklisting info at the bottom of the page.
The Expression of Power will be served up on CD and as a triple LP, with a 28-page booklet featuring liner notes and era-appropriate photos of BL'AST!
In other news, original vocalist Clifford Dinsmore and guitarist Mike Neider have recruited former Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri and Mondo Generator drummer Hoss Wright to perform in a new live lineup of BL'AST!, which will be playing a few shows later this year. More dates are forthcoming, but you can see the tour schedule as is down below.
